THE CHALLENGE
In 7 days in September 2017 we intend to cycle the equivalent of 2.25 times the height of Everest or 15 x times the equivalent of Ben Nevis or twice the height a jumbo jet flies.

We are cycling the Pyranees and the Alps over a 7 day period, even Sir Chris Hoy said we’re mad!

For all the people we have loved and lost.

Two have done LeJog, two have done the London100 before and two have cycled around Ireland so hey, why not just up a few hills or better than that a few big mountains!
King of the Mountains TdF Challenge represents the pinnacle of amateur cycling, pitting riders against the biggest and best mountains of France across 700km, 20 cols, 23,000m of elevation gain and seven incredible stages, highlighted by the legendary Tourmalet, Mont-Ventoux (Club des Cingles du Mont-Ventoux) and Alpe d’Huez.
The Tour de France is the most famous race in all of cycling, with over 100 years of daring escapades and heroic riding ensuring that the Grand Boucle is known around the world.

The mountains of the Alps and Pyrenees, together with the isolated brute that is Mont-Ventoux are responsible for the Tour de France’s reputation, playing host to some of the most memorable stages and battles that have ever been witnessed in the professional cycling peloton.

On September 9th 2017, 8 members of the PEAKY CLIMBERS, will attempt to take on this mighty challenge over a 7 day period.

A mix of amateur, very amateur and downright amateur cyclists that have come together as mates to create a team, we are the PEAKY CLIMBERS.

The King of the Mountains TdF is a truly epic experience offering an unrivalled opportunity to challenge ourselves against the Tour de France’s most famous climbs.
